Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare December 01, 2014

This winter, Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare is partnering with El Paso-area charities to give back as part of the season of giving.

Del Sol Medical Center recently held a canned food drive in which staff members and physicians donated more than 350 grocery bags filled with nonperishable goods to residents at Chelsea Plaza Low Income Housing. Del Sol will also donate holiday gifts to each of Chelsea Plaza’s 360 residents.

Additionally, the facility provides donations to several local charities during the holiday season, including: Reynolds Home; Child Crisis Center of El Paso; Center Against Family Violence (CAFV); Open Arms; United Way and the Food Bank.

This season, Las Palmas Medical Center partnered with Toys for Tots to provide gifts for children ages 3 to 12 years to help make the holidays a little brighter. Collected gifts were delivered by employees to the organization on Dec. 16. The facility also collected clothing items, which were donated to United Way.

Each hospital also recognizes its patients during the holiday season by donating gifts, such as holiday favors and poinsettias to patients in the hospital over the holidays, as well as “heart pillows” to comfort every heart patient.
