EL PASO, Texas—As part of HCA Healthcare, Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare announced today that both of its hospitals—Las Palmas Medical Center and Del Sol Medical Center—have been recognized among the 2025 World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere for their commitment to ethical business practices, transparency and fostering a culture of integrity. HCA Healthcare has now been recognized on the list 15 times and is one of only three honorees in the Healthcare Providers category this year.
“We are honored that as part of HCA Healthcare, Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare hospitals have been recognized by Ethisphere on the list of 2025 World’s Most Ethical Companies,” Alejandro Romero, chief executive officer of Las Palmas Medical Center, said. “This recognition serves as a testament to the exceptional care our physicians and staff provide to patients every day.”
The selection process serves as an operating framework to capture and codify best-in-class ethics and compliance practices from organizations across industries and from around the world. The assessment is grounded in Ethisphere’s proprietary Ethics Quotient, which requires companies to provide more than 240 proof points on practices that support robust ethics and compliance, governance, a culture of ethics, environmental and social impact, and initiatives that support a strong value chain. The data collected then undergoes further qualitative analysis by Ethisphere to determine the World’s Most Ethical list.
Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare has a long history of investing in the El Paso community. Since 2010, Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare has donated more than $1.4 billion in charity care. The healthcare system has also donated nearly $1.9 million in community grants and sponsorships to support El Paso’s quality of life organizations and improve healthcare for West Texans. Last year, Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare colleagues spent more than 1,200 hours volunteering in the communities they serve.
“Earning the distinction on Ethisphere’s list of the 2025 World’s Most Ethical Companies is a tremendous honor for Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare, as part of HCA Healthcare,” Art Garza, chief executive officer of Del Sol Medical Center, said. “This recognition highlights the unwavering commitment of our physicians and staff to delivering compassionate, high-quality care while upholding the highest ethical standards.”
In 2024, HCA Healthcare and the HCA Healthcare Foundation gave more than $48 million to community organizations across the country. The HCA Healthcare Foundation Healthier Tomorrow Fund, a community impact fund focused on addressing high-priority community needs, committed approximately $6.4 million in grants across 15 divisions to nonprofits focused on heart health, mental wellness, healthy starts for young families, access to healthcare careers and fighting food insecurity. Over the last eight years, HCA Healthcare has provided nearly $8 million in financial support to the Red Cross for disaster relief efforts.
HCA Healthcare continues to support the overall well-being of its colleagues through a variety of benefits and resources, including Nurse Care, a 24/7 free and confidential mental health program for the needs of HCA Healthcare hospital-based nurses, and the Company’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) Physician Wellness Research Lab, developed in partnership with Claremont Graduate University.
