The Cardiology Services Department at Las Palmas Medical Center takes an interdisciplinary, evidence based approach to provide the highest quality cardiovascular care to our patients. Our Heart Institute is staffed by board certified physicians and specially trained nurses, and equipped with some of the most innovative life-saving technology available. We are also a Certified Chest Pain Center accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, the nation's leading organization focused on improving care for patients with acute coronary syndromes.

- AngioJet ® thrombectomy, one of the most advanced catheter-based systems available, for breaking up blood clots causing partial or full obstruction of blood flow in an artery.
- SilverHawk Plaque Excision System for removing plaque from inside peripheral arteries. Plaque excision has alleviated severe leg pain for thousands of patients and has successfully helped patients avoid amputation.

Del Sol Medical Center established the first Heart Failure Center in the El Paso region to help heart failure patients proactively manage their heart disease and improve their quality of life.
Del Sol's Emergency Department is a Certified Chest Pain Center accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, the nation's leading organization focused on improving care for patients with acute coronary syndromes. With specialized examination and treatment rooms, our center offers rapid electrocardiography interpretation, point of care biomarker testing for heart attacks and congestive heart failure, continuous cardiac monitoring, and advanced diagnostics such as digital echocardiography and cardiac catheterization.
Del Sol Medical Center is also one of just 10 hospitals nationwide participating in “Expecting Success: Excellence in Cardiac Care,” an effort in conjunction with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that has dramatically improved the quality of cardiac care patients receive.
