Del Sol Medical Center is pleased to announce David Shimp as its new chief executive officer (CEO). Shimp began his new role on February 14, 2017.

Before coming to El Paso, Shimp served as the chief operating officer of St. David’s Medical Center—a complex hospital facility that is part of St. David’s HealthCare in Austin—for the past four years. During his tenure at St. David’s Medical Center, Shimp led numerous strategic, clinical and operational initiatives, including more than $100 million in capital projects that contributed to the hospital’s overall growth. His operational talents helped position St. David’s Medical Center as a national leader in quality care and service.
