• NICVIEW webcam system providing parents the ability to view baby at any time from your own home

Mother and baby in same room

Welcome your baby and spend time getting to know each other right away. Healthy babies stay in the room with mom around the clock while at the Women’s Center at Las Palmas. During this time, new parents bond with the baby, gain experience with feeding and enjoy those first days of closeness.

Delayed bath

At Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare, the labor and delivery team is committed to babies enjoying a peaceful transition out of the womb and into the world. Delaying the baby’s bath benefits newborns in many ways — from strengthening the immune system and lowering the risk of infection to keeping blood sugar stabilized. For these reasons, and more, moms who give birth at our hospitals have the option of a delayed bath for their baby.

Kangaroo Care

Babies love touch, especially closeness with their parents. That’s why the staff at Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare encourages skin-to-skin touch between parents and baby, commonly called Kangaroo Care. Skin-to-skin touch keeps baby’s body warm and breathing rate normal as the baby snuggles closely with a parent. It also lowers the stress level for new parents and helps them feel extra close to their new baby.

Private NICU rooms

Some babies need special care after birth, either because they are born prematurely or with a medical condition requiring treatment. At Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare, we recognize that privacy is important for all newborns and their families. Our state-of-the-art Level III NICU offers large private rooms for newborns, where each parents and family can spend time alone with the baby. One of the rooms even features two beds for twins!
