EL PASO, Texas — Del Sol Medical Center has received wound care certification from The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in the United States. The Joint Commission’s quality review programs for certification demonstrate excellence in bettering patient outcomes by integration and coordination of care, using a multidisciplinary approach. This is the third consecutive time The Joint Commission has certified Del Sol Medical Center in wound care, which is awarded every two years.
Wound care certification from The Joint Commission is based on an assessment of compliance with consensus-based national standards and National Patient Safety Goals, as well as effective use of clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care.
“Providing exceptional care is our top priority, and we are very proud of this certification,” Jacob Cintron, chief executive officer of Del Sol Medical Center, said. “We are committed to seeing that our wound care programs serve as an industry benchmark for high standards, exceptional care and optimal patient outcomes.”
In addition to recertification, The Joint Commission recognized Del Sol Medical Center’s Wound Care education booklet as an example of best-in-practice healthcare literature.
Del Sol Medical Center’s Wound Care programs take an intensive, multi-disciplinary approach that focuses on healing wounds as rapidly as possible while treating the underlying causes that compromise the healing process. For more information, visit the homepage.
