EL PASO, Texas — Las Palmas Medical Center has named Aileen Kalt as its director of women’s surgical services. In this role, Kalt will be responsible for ensuring quality care and patient, staff and physician satisfaction. Kalt assumed her new role on Nov. 11.
“Aileen’s leadership experience and dedication to delivering a high level of patient care in the El Paso community make her an excellent addition to Las Palmas Medical Center,” Hank Hernandez, chief executive officer of Las Palmas Medical Center, said. “We are looking forward to the positive influence she will have on patient, staff and physician satisfaction.”
Before joining Las Palmas Medical Center, Kalt was the trauma coordinator at Providence Memorial Hospital, where she also served as president of the nursing performance and improvement committee. She previously worked as a charge nurse, staff nurse and technician in the emergency department. Prior to her positions at Providence Memorial Hospital, Kalt worked for a local El Paso medical team and emergency services institute as an emergency medical technician and instructor.
Kalt earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from The University of Texas at El Paso. She is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association, Society of Trauma Nurses, Disaster Medical Assistance Team and the board of directors of the Border Regional Advisory Council. She is also an instructor at El Paso Community College.
