Hyperbaric medicine
Hyperbaric medicine, also known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), involves breathing oxygen inside of a pressurized chamber. Diabetes, an aging population, immobilization and circulatory problems contribute to the majority of chronic, non-healing wounds. In developed countries, it has been estimated that 1 to 2% of the population will experience a chronic wound during their lifetime.
